Celebrating International Women's Day!

8th March 2024: I attended a special International Women’s Day reception at the House of Lords last Friday, for my recognition of strong contribution to entrepreneurship.

I joined inspirational female founders from across the UK who have been selected for Small Business Britain’s annual #iAlso100 line-up.

Forming part of Small Business Britain’s f:Entrepreneur campaign, the #iAlso100 champions the unique impact of multi-achieving female business owners, who lead purpose-driven businesses and support their communities along the way through volunteering, mentoring, and other community initiatives.

“It was amazing to be invited to The House of Lords and celebrate my achievements, as an entrepreneur and share the success of being named on #ialso100 list for 2024 with fellow women business owners. It has to be one of the highlights of the year so far!”

Festive Chalk Board Illustration by desgn.prnt

Festive Chalk Board Illustration

I was excited once again to have the opportunity to collaborate with a local business, Fossil & Bloom to update their chalk board frame.

Of course specific colours had to be used. Not to mention a flamingo, which was in keeping with the current festive window display.

It's always a great please for me to step away from creating digitally.

If you are interested in what I have created or would love for me to illustrate your chalk board for your business, then feel free to reach out to me.

Dolce Vita Scallop

Really excited to announce that I have added a new collection to my Spoonflower Shop.

The collection is called 'Dolce Vita' . Inspired by a trend brief supplied by Porter & Brawn during the Make it in Design Summer School 2022.

The design that you see on your left was inspired by my recent trip to Madiera. The geometric cobbled streets of the Old Town combined with the lush foliage of the sub-tropical climate.

Available now to purchase as fabric, wallpaper and home-decor.

Tag me on my socials @desgn.prnt if you use my designs in your projects.

Exciting News

Sanctuary community Panel by Rakha Madahar

At the begining of April 2022, I took part in an Art Workshop through Art Alert to create a circular panel about my experience of the Covid pandemic. This would then be submitted with other entries. If chosen, it would be created as wooden panel that then would form part  of the amazing memorial structure designed by David Best called, 'Sanctuary'. It would stand in Bedworth's Miners' Welfare Park for a week. and then be burned.

Thinking back during the height of the pandemic, I remember how I used to sit socially distanced on my mum's brick wall. Being able to see her ,but not hug her or go into her home. So I decided to create a panel with a silhouette of just the two of us sitting on her front garden wall.

To my surprise when I was invited to go and see the structure, I realised that my submission was chosen to be part of the community panel and created into a wooden circular panel.

I am currently taking part in the March Coloricombo Challenge over on Instagram.

Here are some designs and illustrations that I have created so far...
